Hi everybody. On it.vikidia we were thinking of going on with the proposal to join WMF, as we would have several upsides (technical assistance from WMF developers, cross-wiki patrolling, use of meta-wiki, use of bugzilla, stable MediaWiki versions, and so on; note that right now vikidia doesn't have any of these) which would improve our readers' experience and the project's experience. Astirmays told us that we and any other local vikidia (that means that you can join us) can take up the old proposal and bring it forward on our own. Fr.vikidia won't follow, but, provided we change the domain name (the original proposal was "Wikikids"), Astirmays said he will not make any opposition. We are "inviting" you to prepare a request for comments to be voted on each vikidia (it.vikidia, you and any other vikidia which will join our initiative). Once we point out pros and cons and when the request for comments is ready, each community can vote it. At that point, we will have with us strong consensus and we can go on with the joining request to WMF.

Right now we are asking you: would you be interested? You don't have to decide now whether to join WMF, you just have to say "yes, we would like to participate in this brainstorming and then, when the proposal is ready, we would like to vote it" or "no, thanks".
